Introduction to Psychology
Aim:
This course provides an opportunity for students to enhance their knowledge and understanding of Human Psychology. This is adhered by introducing the main schools of thought in psychology as well as the main research methods that psychologists use to gather data.

Length of Study:
12 weeks with tutor support.

Entry Requirements:
No formal entry requirements.

Contents:
Within this unit the student will: Describe the Contribution of Major Figures to the Development of Psychological Knowledge, Apply Psychological Explanations to the Analysis of Everyday Situations, Describe the Main Types of Research Methods Used by Psychologists.

Study Method:
Home-based self-study with a tutor to contact for help and advice.

Assessment:
Three written assessments one at the end of each outcome.

Cost:
£105 + £7.50 SQA Fee.
