Introduction to Womenswear Pattern Cutting

This step-by-step introductory pattern cutting course will introduce you to the basic techniques for womenswear pattern cutting. You’ll be working from a standard size 12 template (block) and you’ll investigate how to make a range of pattern pieces for the bodice, skirt and sleeve. You’ll get the opportunity to discuss different styles and how you can alter your patterns to create different shapes. The course will also cover a brief introduction to sizing and how you can modify your patterns for a better fit.

This course will include pattern work for the following:

• Collars
• Sleeves
• Bodice
• Skirts
• Waistbands

Beginners. You should have an interest in the subject area and a desire to learn but no previous experience is required.
