An Introduction to Wood Veneering

The course will cover the basic techniques and skills of hand veneering and restoration including how to lay veneers, make and fit stringing, inlay and banding. Course Agenda: •Mixing 'pearl' glue •Preparing groundwork and veneers prior to veneering •Laying veneer using traditional 'hammer' techniques •Book matching' - 'Halving' and 'Quartering' veneers •Laying decorative cross-bandings and letting in line inlays Sat: 10:00 - 16:00
