The course is designed as an introduction for health and safety in the workplace for managers. It concentrates on training the manager to apply sound management principles to health and safety issues as part of the overall management strategy. Course programme
The programme is structured in eight modules, each of which requires a varying amount of directed study. The training programme can be spread over a variety of periods to suit individual needs.
The main modules are:
- Introducing managing safely
- Assessing risks
- Controlling risks
- Understanding your responsibilities
- Identifying hazards
- Investigating accidents and incidents
- Measuring performance
- Protecting our environment
Assessment takes two forms: An end of course multi-format assessment lasting an hour and the submission of a risk assessment project within two weeks of the end of the course.
