Managing Challenging Behaviour in the Workplace Key Trainer's Certificate (Refresher/Update)

This one day 'Refresher/Update' course is accredited by the Open College Network (OCN) and has been designed for those who have previously attended the Edge Services 'Managing Challenging Behaviour in the Workplace Key Trainer's Certificate' or similar course.

Delegates who have not originally trained with EDGE Services will be required to provide proof of their original qualification. We would normally expect candidates to have completed a four to five day course (or appropriate Refresher/Update of at least one day) no more than one year and three months prior to the commencement of your chosen Refresher/Update course. Individuals attending Refresher/Update training without meeting these criteria will not be issued a certificate, and, therefore, if you are unsure about your eligibility, please contact EDGE.

This course will further advance your professional development and de-escalation skills, and give you the opportunity to trade your experiences with others.

Course Content Includes:

• A reminder of legislation and any relevant changes that affect you, their job, their employer and employees;
• A reminder of how to identify the ‘warning signs’ and means by which aggression and/or violence can be anticipated:
• A reminder of the importance of and competence in de-escalation skills when dealing with a potentially challenging client; and show the skills, confidence and knowledge to convey this understanding and competence to others;
• you will be reminded of the skills needed to undertake breakaway techniques designed to help defuse potentially challenging situations; and show the skills, confidence and knowledge to convey this ability to others.

Upon sucessful completion of this training you will receive a certificate of achievement which is valid for one year.
