The IT Application Specialist Intermediate Level Apprenticeship is suitable for all IT users from office personnel who use computers on a daily basis to those who deal with industry technology. The right computer skills can open up a huge range of opportunities. This course improves computer skills, updates knowledge and competence to use new versions of Microsoft Office and teach users new software packages. There are a wide range of job roles that would benefit from these courses including: administrators, designers, stock controllers, IT helpdesk assistants and managers. This programme provides practical skills and theoretical knowledge across a broad range of IT topics from spreadsheets to using a mobile device.
The Apprenticeship Framework is made up of the following components. In order to be successful you must complete and achieve all elements.
PRACTICAL/COMPETENCY ELEMENT
City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in IT User Skills (QCF).
Mandatory Units:
• Improving Productivity Using IT
• Understanding the Potential of IT
• Develop Personal and Team Effectiveness using IT
Choose from a range of optional units to enhance your learning experience and tailor the programme to your individual training needs.
TRANSFERABLE SKILLS:
• Maths Level 1, English Level 1 and ICT Level 2
• Employment Rights and Responsibilities workbook
• Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
This apprenticeship takes 12-18 months to complete and has a flexible start date. There is no upper age limit for apprenticeships making it a course ideal for both those looking to start a career in a particular sector or those who are already employed and looking to get qualifications that recognise their experience and gives them opportunity to progress further in their career.
