The BTEC National Award is a two-year study programme and is equivalent to one A level. The course is divided into six units; two that provide a basic grounding in ICT and four specialist units in advanced spreadsheet skills, website production and management, computer animation and digital graphics.
You will have an opportunty to develop your skills in numeracy, communication and IT as well as improving your study, presentation and research skills.
ENTRY RECOMMENDATIONS:
A minumum of five GCSEs at grade C or above including English and Mathematics.
ASSESSMENT:
100% portfolio assignments. Each unit is awarded points with an overall grade at Pass, Merit or Distinction awarded at the end of the two year course.
PROGRESSION:
Demand for ICT personnel is increasing and job opportunities for well-qualified individuals are high. There is an ever increasing number of degree related courses to extend your understanding and operation of ICT. In many cases ICT degree courses are combined with another subject to take advantage of the specialised industries that exploit the use of ICT.
