An understanding of the importance of anatomical structures and their interrelated functions provides you with a fascinating insight into the intricate workings or the human body prior to attempting any form of treatments. It is also the key to becoming a successful practitioner.

About this course
The objective of this course if for the students to gain the neccessary knowledge and obtain ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology which is a compulsory stepping stone for those who wish to study any form of massage, reflexology or any other complementary therapy.
This course is designed for anyone wishing to persue a career in Complementary Medicine. No previous learning required.
There is no special entry requirement for this course and it is assumed that you will have no prior knowledge of the subject. You must be 18 years of age to attend but there is no upper age limit!

The course comprises 5 attendance days where we review each topic to ensure full understanding to support your learning and to prepare you for the examination, supplemented by an on-line course which you work through at home. Each section includes student testing so that you can check your progress and understanding.
The ITEC Anatomyand Physiology course covers the following subjects:
o Understanding your learning style
o Introduction to the human body
o Medical terminology
o Cytology
o Histology
o Anatomy & physiology of the following systems
· Integumentary
· Skeletal
· Articulations
· Muscular
· Digestive
· Urinary
· Neurological
· Endocrine
· Cardiovascular
· Lymphatic & immunity
· Respiratory
· Reproductive
o Basic pathology of each system
o Learning & examination techniques
Examinations:
During the course we will guide you through some practice exam papers in preparation for the final exam. Upon satisfactory completion of a mock theory examination taken in class on the last day of the course you will be eligible to sit the ITEC Anatomy and Physiology Level 3 examination which comprises a Multiple Choice Theory Paper of 50 questions. Students who do not have English as their first language will be granted extra time in the exam.
Qualification:
Once qualified, you will be awarded an ITEC Anatomy and Physiology Level 3 qualification.
This qualification is the stepping stone to other qualifications such as Massage and Reflexology, which can be booked before you complete the Anatomy And Physiology course. If you are proposing to enrol on either Massage or Reflexology course to follow on from the Anatomy and Physiology, please be aware that there will be some additional costs involved for the purchase of necessary equipment and clinic wear.
