Java Online is only available by distance learning, and participants can be local or based anywhere across the world. It runs for 10 weeks with learning material provided and a tutor available to give help and support as required.

About this course
This online module aims to provide an introduction to object-oriented programming using the Java programming language to participants who already have some (other) programming experience.
Students are expected to have some programming experience, but no previous knowledge of object-oriented programming or Java is required.

Course programme
The syllabus is divided into six units, each of which lasts for 10 or 11 days. Material is taught using a combination of self-presenting powerpoints, quizzes, tutorials and example programs. Each unit concludes with a piece of assessed work.
Up to ten hours a unit should be set aside in order to complete the module. This may vary depending on your prior experience or methods of working. Within this time, at least three hours should be spent working online.
