This is an informal study group for performing pianists, meeting 6 times in the year to explore, discuss, transcribe and play samples of work by important jazz pianists of the last 70 years.
Meetings are on the following 6 Sunday afternoons : 28 October, 2 December, 20 January, 24 February, 24 March and 5 May.

About this course
- Transcribe solos with increased facility
- Apply techniques and features found in recordings to your own playing
- Display improved aural skills
- Play interesting solos.
Material will be provided by the tutor, but you may need to buy cds or download tracks for study. Bring a memory stick to class. Familiarity with tutor's book 'Exploring Jazz Piano' Volume 2 (Schott music 2005) is desirable. Bring the book to class along with A4 manuscript paper.
