*** PLEASE NOTE THIS CLASS RUNS FROM 6.30-9PM FOR FIVE WEEKS IN A ROW, ONE EVENING A WEEK***
Learn the age old technique of lost wax carving - a fascinating way of making silver and gold jewellery by carving shapes out of wax, then creating a mould of the wax, melting the wax and pouring molten silver or gold in to make a solid silver version of your wax mould. A great class for anyone interested in making Jewellery. Students will need to pay for the amount of silver and gold that is used in their jewellery.
In the class all students will learn to carve and shape the wax into different shapes and design whole pieces of jewellery in wax. These wax pieces are then sent off in the week for casting which is where the moulds are made by a casting company and they pour in the molten silver or gold. Then the following week the wax designs will come back in silver ready to add any finishing touches and be polished ready to wear.
Students will be able to make a number of designs throughout the course as well as learning the techniques.
Students will need to pay for the silver and or gold that they use in the casting of their pieces - this amount varies depending on the weight of the pieces, how may there are any what materials are being used. The tutor can advise you on price guides before sending the casts off.

'Anyone can do this class and the great thing is you can do it all from home, I have already made more than 6 pieces in wax - can't wait to see them in silver' Tom Lilow
'I am really pleased I choose to do this class - it is even better than making chocolate!' Hannah Parkis
