Jewellery Business Day

This course is aimed at jewellers or soon to be jewellers who would like information and advice as well as a kick-start in setting up their own jewellery business. Throughout the day you will be guided by one of our expert tutors who all run their own successful jewellery businesses, on a whole range of topics in relation to running a jewellery business.

This course is an interactive workshop and an intense day packed full of information to help you get started in setting up in business. (Please note that no actual jewellery making will be covered).

Topics discussed include:

- Marketing - how to market yourself and your work, different approaches to marketing, branding and brainstorming ideas.
- PR- Ideas about getting noticed by the press, writing press releases and using other methods such as networking to promote your business.
- IT and Websites - You will be encouraged to think about how websites and IT are used in the running of your business. Covering topics such as building your website, using a designer or DIY, social networking and much more.
- Photography - Getting good pictures of your jewellery is one of the most important things. During the class this will be discussed and tutors will give guidance and advice.
- Budgeting - A look a finances, how to record details, maintain accounts and keeping to budgets.
- Pricing and selling your jewellery - Getting your pricing right is crucial, make sure you think of all aspects of pricing for selling
- Getting into galleries and shops - practical ideas and advice on how to approach shops and galleries
- Packaging for your jewellery
- Legal requirements of running a jewellery business
- Insurance as well as networking and class discussions.

Please bring with you any questions you have and be prepared for a full day packed full of info! As with all of your day classes we take an hour break for lunch and there are plenty of local shops to get food from, or you can always bring a packed lunch to eat in the studio. General Info:
As with all of our classes, all materials are included in the cost of the class as well as plenty of tea coffee and luxury biscuits! The classes are all run by expert tutors with years of professional experience who are friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. The size of the classes is kept small to allow plenty of one-on-one attention and the maximum number of students for this class is 8.

We take an hour break for lunch and there are plenty of local shops to get food from, or you can always bring a packed lunch to eat in the studio. If you have any questions regarding this, or other courses please don't hesitate to get in touch.
