Course programme
Learn the traditional technique of lost wax casting. Through this 5-day workshop you will be guided through basic to more advanced techniques including – cuttlefish, deft clay that can be conducted at home to vacuum casting that requires more specialist equipment.
This is an exciting and quick way of making jewellery in precious metals. You will start by learning how to carve, shape and mould wax models to create rings / pendants / small vessels etc.
These models will then be cast in metal from which multiple wax models can be made using wax injection in rubber moulds.
By the end of the course you will have finished pieces of jewellery to take away with you. The course is suitable for both the complete beginner and those with jewellery making experience who wish to add to their existing skills.
