Course review:
Keum Boo is an ancient Korean technique that literally translates as 'attached gold'. 24k gold foil is bonded to fine silver through a combination of heat and pressure - no solder is used, and the process really is magical! It is a beautiful way of using gold in your designs without breaking the bank.
Private Keum Boo tuition teaches you to make a piece, or two simple pieces, of jewellery of your own design. Topics covered include piercing, filing and sanding silver, depleting silver, soldering, rolling mill printing and, of course, attaching the gold foil. You will also be taught about the equipment required for carrying out keum boo work at home and will take information sheets away with you, together with any left over gold foil.
