This training and assessment programme only covers:

Unit 152 of the Award - Operating Pedestrian Hand Held Applicators Fitted With Hydraulic Nozzles or Rotary Atomisers to Apply Pesticides to or Near Water.

The assessment is held on a separate day by appointment, usually the following week.

Course Coverage

This course looks specifically at applications that are required in or near water

The course will look at how to seek the correct permissions from the Environment Agency as well as checking that the pesticide to be used has the correct approval for use in or near water

Calibration of the sprayer will be covered again but specifically for setting the applicator up for use near water and also making sure any considerations regarding the environment or for the risk assessment for working near water are taken into account

Entry Criteria & Additional Information

It is beneficial to have attended training and assessment for the PA6a before completing the PA6aw unit

Candidates must have passed the L2 Award in the Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides (PA1)

Candidates are expected to provide their own PPE for both the training and assessments. A list will be provided up on application

Sprayers are provided for both the training and assessment
