LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN SUPPORTING TEACHING AND LEARNING IN SCHOOLSThis qualification incorporates the units in the Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools and adds competence-based units to reflect the role of those supporting pupils learning.The qualification is suitable for those who work in any classroom or learning support role for at least 10 hours per week in either a paid or voluntary capacity.Learners must achieve 30 credits in total from a combination of mandatory and optional units. The mandatory units cover general aspects of school and classroom support, learners can then choose specific optional units that match their particular work role or school environment.

Course programme



Tutored sessions will include powerpoints, videos, tutor led group discussions and group work. There is also a requirement of individual study, research, portfolio work and completion of assignments.



Those who develop their role through this qualification can progress onto the Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools.

Additional information

Learners will be required to take part in an interview to assess suitability. The programme is roll-on/roll-off meaning learners can join the course at any point in the year. Some study and completion of coursework at home will be required.
