About the subject
This is a two-year course for beginners, taking place on two evenings a week from 4.00 to 5.00 p.m.
Collyer's students would be taking the subject alongside Year Ten and Eleven students from Millais, Forest and Tanbridge House for whom the course is primarily intended.
The first year covers basic grammar and the second year involves translating from Latin to English, more complex language work and studying set texts.

Learning Styles
Most of the learning involves individual or group translation in class, so the emphasis is on reading and understanding stories in Latin.

Latin GCSE is useful for anyone studying Modern Languages, English, Law and a range of other subjects.
