2. Course description The course will help you build some fundamental employability skills through a variety of methods: communication and presentation skills will be developed and assessed by researching and completing individual and paired presentations; analytical and problem-solving skills will be built through case study work; practical professional skills will be gained through work-related assessments, including conveyancing activities. All of these skills will be taught in the context of the legal environment to support your academic study, preparation for employment or career progression. In year one the modules you'll study will include: · legal method · law of contract and problem solving · skills of law, English and communication · foundation in criminal law · professional environment In year two you'll study: · law of tort and case analysis · public law and human rights · foundation in property law · European legal environment · foundation in employment law You'll have access to some resources at Nottingham Trent University to help you in your studies, and you'll be visited by a number of external speakers throughout the course.

Entry requirements You will need a minimum of 64 points on the new UCAS tariff (160 points on the old tariff) from: · at least two A Levels at ‘A2' · a BTEC Diploma or Extended Diploma · International Baccalaureate You'll also need a minimum of GCSEs at grade A*-C in Maths and English Language, or equivalent. If you have the ILEX Level 3 Diploma you are welcome to apply. Mature students with relevant experience and/or qualifications, including an Access to HE Diploma within a relevant area, are welcome to apply.* *You may be required to attend an interview. 4.
