The University of Plymouth Law Clinic gives student the opportunity to offer real advice and representation to real clients.

Modules
  • Academic Writing for Law
You will learn about the importance of accounting and financial reporting. Topics include profit and loss, trading accounts and budgetary control.

How will I be assessed?
70% exam, 30% coursework
  • Business Law
You will develop an understanding of commercial and consumer contracts, legal issues in business and employee rights.

80% exam, 20% coursework
  • Business Studies
You will explore the fundamentals of business, including globalisation; ethics and sustainability; operations, marketing and HR; strategy, leadership and management.

80% exam, 20% coursework
  • Constitutional Law
You will explore and evaluate different types of constitutions and analyse systems of government. Topics include the UK electoral system; the House of Commons; the House of Lords; the Civil Service and parliamentary sovereignty.

  • Contract Law
You will cover the basics of contract law in England and Wales. Topics include contract terms and exclusion clauses.

  • Interactive Learning Skills and Communication
You will develop your academic communication skills and use of digital technology for higher education.

60% coursework, 30% exam and 10% personal development planning
  • Legal Skills and the English Legal System
You will develop an in-depth understanding of the English legal system while learning how to analyse legal issues and consider alternative arguments.

100% coursework/assessment
  • Principles of ICT
You will use Microsoft Office packages and get to grips with website content management systems (CMS) and other online apps.

50% coursework, 25% exam and 25% presentation assessment
