Develop knowledge of the connection between US and UK legal systems.
Not only do you gain a qualifying law degree but you also explore the history, politics, culture and literature of the Americas.
You experience first-hand a new culture and legal system on your year abroad. We’re proud to have more prestigious American partner institutions – including UC Berkeley and Georgetown – than any other programme in England.
You may undertake training to offer legal advice to the public (under supervision) and through the Sussex Law Clinic you can gain practical experience of the law in action before you graduate.

Many of our graduates go on to qualify as solicitors and barristers, or go on to jobs including:
paralegal, Balfour Beatty
case handler, Santander
executive officer, Home Office.

You should also have a broad range of GCSEs 9-4 (A*-C), including good grades in relevant subjects.
