This course will enable you to learn about London and improve your English at the same time. You will learn about different areas of London and the people and cultures who have lived there. You will also learn about important historical events which have helped to create the city, and you will discuss present-day London and how it is changing. You will also have a chance to talk or write about your own experiences of the city. While doing this you will work on your reading and listening skills as well as improve your language for discussing and giving your opinions and developing your vocabulary. You will learn how to use information from texts and from talks in order to write and speak in a fluent manner about a range of topics.

About this course

• identify, talk and/or write about key events in London’s history
• describe, talk and/or write about areas of London, the people who live there and their different cultures
• use a range of vocabulary to describe people and places
• use a range of language to give opinions and make comments
• use a range of verb tenses to talk about change and continuity
• research a range of materials and use this information effectively to develop your writing or speech.

There should be no additional costs since the places visited will be free. But you should bring a pen, paper and folder to class.

This will be a dynamic, exciting and creative course with lots of interaction and participation as well as visits around the city.

Or you can do a course without an exam and work on specific areas of your English such as pronunciation, writing, reading or grammar. Your tutor will advise you on the best course.
