A practical introduction to work skills for students with a severe or moderate learning disability. Students work in a mini-enterprise project, making and selling lunches to staff and students, and are involved in all aspects of the business. They will do work experience/voluntary work while on the course - this will be an external placement. Students are encouraged to apply for one of the College’s mini-jobs, which provide valuable experience and a first step towards paid employment. Learning travel skills is an important part of the course. All students are expected to learn to make an independent journey by the end of the year. They also have Work Skills, Tutorial, PSHE, numeracy, IT and an options session.

Please note: This course is for 16-24 year-olds. The course times are from 9.45am – 3.15pm, students arrive from 9.15am. Some local authorities may provide transport to and from the College.
