A range of speaking,listening and reading and writing tasks. Learners will develop and improve their conversation skills in a variety of topics, which have been covered on the Italian Improvers course so that they can deal with a variety of situations encountered whilst in an Italian speaking country. Topics will include: Travelling, likes and dislikes, daily routines, telephone conversations, speaking about the past and future.

About this course
This course is suitable if you have completed an Italian Improvers 2 course or have studied Italian for approximately 100 hours who would like to further develop your confidence and competence in Italian.
Prior knowledge is essential. It may have been gained on a recent programme of study at Improvers’ level or a minimum of 80 hour tuition, at school, have lived in an Italian speaking country or through independent private study on-line or open access courses. This course is suited to students who have already acquired a good knowledge of the language and are reasonably confident in using everyday functional language.

How will I learn?
A variety of teaching methods will be used to ensure that learners’ individual needs are met . Teaching and learning activities will include various speaking activities including, role-play, conversation games, group work, pair work, discussions, and flashcards.
How will my progress be monitored and assessed?
This is a non accredited course with no exam at the end but the tutor will monitor progress and give developmental feedback.
Progression opportunities
Learners will be able to progress onto an Intermediate course once they complete this course.
What equipment or materials will I need to provide?
Please bring a pen and paper to your lessons. You may be required to purchase a course book for your own personal use, plus a dictionary.
What other support is available?
Help with numeracy or literacy is available. ICT drop-in sessions are available during term time and are open to all learners. Additional support can be provided for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Learner Support Funding is available for equipment, childcare and travel to learners who qualify.
