Level 1 Bookkeeping and Accounts (Manual Route) (City & Guilds 8991)

The syllabus teaches the accounting process from source documents to trial balance. It covers source documents, day books, cash books, the double-entry bookkeeping system, sales and purchases control ledgers, some VAT, bank reconciliation, petty cash imprest system and trial balance. This is a City and Guilds accredited qualification. There is a 1 hour exam at the end of the course, which is externally assessed. If successful, students will gain a City and Guilds 8991 Level 1 Certificate Bookkeeping and Accounting.The tutor will teach the theoretical aspects of the course, students will then be given ample time to practice the required skills and techniques.
