Programme outline
As a trainee in Wall and Floor Tiling, you will learn the following: hand tools and their uses, cleaning and maintenance, basic tiling techniques and about the materials that you will use, how to use portable power tools, how to work safely, the building team and how it works together as a team. You will also learn how to communicate and work effectively with others and learn basic building methods and construction technology. In addition you will learn how to quantify materials required for the work you will be expected to do and learn how to safely move and store materials.
What do I need to get on the course?
A good command of English and maths (entry level 3), plus a College interview and assessment.

How much will it cost?
Don’t worry about the cost of learning! We can help and advise you.
For 16-18 year-olds, your tuition will be free and you may be able to get discounted travel with Transport for London student travel cards.
19+: Adults on many courses are eligible for Government funding for some or all of the fee. Adults aged 19-23 are eligible for Government funding up to and including their first full level 3 qualification, and after that they may access an Advanced Learner Loan to cover tuition fees if the course is loan-fundable. Adults aged 24+ on a level 3+ course may take out an Advanced Learner Loan to cover tuition fees if the course is loan-fundable. If you do need to pay a fee, the College offers a number of ways to pay and can also advise you about financial support available to you.

Before you start your lessons, you’ll take part in induction sessions, where you’ll meet other students and find out all about the support that’s available to you. This includes learning about the Virtual Learning Environment, tutorials and the campus facilities. All students can receive free, confidential and impartial advice on things like: your next step in education or your career, finance, housing, health, immigration, benefit claims, legal problems, sexual health, drugs, staying safe, personal / emotional concerns and other issues.
