This qualification focuses on fundamental practical skills and knowledge. Successful completion of the qualification will ensure that the learner will have gained an understanding of the core skills and knowledge required by a plaster working within the construction sector. The qualification does not require occupational evidence. Course Content
Introduction to health and safety in construction
Introduction to the construction industry
Tiling a plain wall
Tiling floors with a border
Mixing materials and applying floating coats
Producing components from moulds
Preparing background surfaces and applying render coats
Maths and English at an appropriate level
NOTE:
As part of your programme of study, there is an expectation that you undertake a timetabled work placement or experience block of learning, this is designed to enable you to gain experience of the industry
You will also have the opportunity to complete additional modules from our construction skills portfolio, Including: Electrical, Plumbing, Brickwork, Joinery, Electrical and Paint and Decorating, This will allow you to gain a wider experience of the industry and increase you skills.
Method of Assessment
On-going assessment will take place throughout the course. All assessments within this qualification are externally set (by City and Guilds), centre marked assignments and practical assessments.
