Course programme
Three day course designed to introduce trainees to the skimming of plasterboard with Thistle Board Finish. It is one of the most popular ways of finishing plasterboard for decoration, as it gives a smooth, high quality appearance similar to two coat wet plastering
Objectives
1. Have the basic skills to handle the tools.
2. Understanding the working and setting characteristics of skim plasters.
3. Be confident to approach the common details found on site; walls, angles and ceilings.
4. be able to achievbe three mixes per day.
At the end of the course trainees will receive a Certificate of Attendance from the Drywall Academy as part evidence towards the relevant NVQ unit.
Suitability
The course is designed for improvers who have basic jointing and finishing skills.
Teaching method
Practical training, with trainees working in small groups and individually, guided by instructors, to complete set pieces of work. Recapping knowledge questions at the end of the course.
Programme
Training begins at 9:30am on day one and finishes at 4pm on day three.
