Course Content

This course is for people who have a keen interest in animals.

Topics on this course include:

• Providing food and water for animals
• Maintaining animal accommodation
• Helping with animal hygiene
• Care of exotics, including reptiles, amphibians and insects
• Animal biology including nutrition, growth, digestion and reproduction
• Anatomy and physiology
• Animal health and welfare, including diseases and first aid
• Aquatics
• Wildlife and rehabilitation
• Work experience (mandatory for Levels 2 and 3)

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs grade D or above to include English and Mathematics

Possible Progression

Level 3 in Animal Management, Employment or Apprenticeship
