You will be shown how to build a creative portfolio through a range of digital and practical activities based around learning to be a designer or digital artist whilst working in many different creative processes.
You will have access our great facilities at Croydon School of Art, including our specialist computer suites, studios, workshops, and classrooms and you will be supported by subject tutors using our specialist resources. Examples include:
- Experimenting with stop motion animation, environment, and character design
- Designing via Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and other software and Apps.
- Exploring concept art, life drawing, and observational sketching
- Using our Mac suites, with industry standard software for 2D/3D animation and stop-motion
- Observational drawing to help animated work or character design and other creative development
You will be helped at every stage to build further confidence, new skills, and independence, not just in creative work, but in social and cultural experiences.
Good English and maths skills are essential for success in studying and for future employment prospects and so Croydon College ensures that these skills are developed in all learning opportunities.
It’s also important to have good English and maths qualifications and so all students will study English and maths and work towards an appropriate level and type of qualification including GCSE. This will be part of all 16-18 year old students’ Study Programme alongside their main vocational or academic qualification and will be discussed with students at interview.
