Course programme
You will study the following units and on completion will achieve a VTCT Diploma in Complementary Therapies;
- Basic body massage
- Basic aromatherapy
- Basic reflexology
- Anatomy and physiology
- Business practice
- Principles and practice of complementary therapies
- Healthy eating and wellbeing for client
As part of your course, you will be required to study towards functional skills or GCSE in Maths & English.
Method of Study
The course is delivered using a combination of practical work supported by theory sessions. You will spend time in Carlisle College's own commercial salon.
This will help develop your confidence, communication skills and ability to deal with and work with clients.
There will also be opportunities for you to visit beauty exhibitions throughout the country, and there will be guest speakers who will teach you the secrets of their skills. In order to successfully complete your practical skill assessments, students are required to provide suitable clients for treatments and case studies.
