Course programme

This programme is ideal for anyone with an interest in engineering who may wish to progress to the Level 3 programmes, which can lead to employment or university.
This qualification is equivalent to good GCSE grades, and provides a good grounding to progress to more advanced programmes such as the BTEC National Diploma in Engineering or the National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
Assessment is continuous, by a number of assignments for each subject unit and some tests. These are internally assessed and subject to external verification. The final grade is determined by a "points system" that will be explained during induction week. You will be assessed by building a portfolio of evidence of your skills and by completing an externally assessed set of tasks.
