This course is designed for individuals who have a placement in a school, in a voluntary or paid capacity. The course runs on roll-on, roll-off programme which allows individuals to join at any point during the year. There is an expectation that candidates will attend knowledge sessions at Huntingdonshire Regional College but there may be some flexibility with this arrangement. The majority of the course is assessed in the workplace with guidance and support from a college assessor.

Course programme

Progress with a career as a teaching assistant in a school or possibly progress onto Level 3.

We want you to achieve to the very best of your ability at CRC. To make this happen we offer both learning and personal support by specialist staff tailored to meet your specific needs.

Some of the units are assessed via theory tasks; others are a mixture of theory tasks, work based evidence and observations. Candidates are allocated an assessor who will support the learner through the course.
