Course programme

An Apprenticeship is a national work-based training programme designed for individual industries. Apprenticeships are a great way of earning and learning at the same time. They allow the apprentice to gain technical knowledge and real practical experience, along with functional and personal skills, required for their immediate job and future career. These are acquired through a mix of college instruction and on-the-job training in the workplace, giving the opportunity to practice and embed new skills in a real work environment.
You will be studying a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electro technical Systems and Equipment (Buildings, Structures and the Environment) (City & Guilds 2357-13).
As an Advanced Level Apprentice you will gain Knowledge and Competency City & Guilds Certificates in Level 3 Electrotechnical Systems, and a certificate in Employment Rights and Responsibilities. You will also gain Functional Skills in Communication, Application of Number and I.C.T. as well as your AM2 and Apprenticeship framework certificate.
You will learn on a part-time basis at college (Knowledge), and spend the rest of your time at work. Apprentices will build a portfolio of work and have on-site visits to observe their ability and skills in their daily role (Competence).
