Course Content

The Level 3 Art and Design (Fine Art) course is for committed, creative people who want to develop their skills and expand their portfolio. If you enjoy drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture and print, this course is for you! You will learn about the creative and technical elements of art and design with tasters of the specialisms available for further study.

This course trains students in both the creativity and technical aspects of Art and Design giving them a taste of specialities available to them for further study. You will take part in trips and visits to various galleries and museums, as well as carrying out research.



Topics on the Fine Art pathway include:

• Visual recording in art and design

• Materials, techniques and processes in art and design

• Concepts in art and design

• Contextual influences in art and design

• Sculpture, ceramics, print, painting and photography or video

• Final term students complete a final major project

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs grade C or above to include English and Mathematics. BTEC Level 2 qualification, NVQ Level 2 or VRQ Level 2
