Music Technology
AS/A2 Level - Two-year course
This course is designed to allow students to study music through technology. It is also designed for musicians to focus their studies in the direction of technology in order to gain a contextual understanding of the impact of technology on a range of music.

Students must have a good knowledge of an instrument, and are encouraged to join the groups and ensembles on offer.

Both years of study include practical and written work. In year one (AS), students develop a portfolio that includes sequencing, recording, arranging and improvising using technology. Written work includes listening and analysing.

In year two (A2), the portfolio is extended to sequencing, recording, producing and composing using technology. Written work continues to develop the skills of listening and analysing. The course also focuses on many aspects of working in the industry and there are opportunities to meet and work with professionals. Links include record companies, managers, publishers and live venues.
