Level 3: Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (3 QCF credits) shortly known as TAQA (former as A1 course) is qualification is intended for those who wish to gain an understanding of the principles and practices of assessment without any requirement to practice as assessors. The Level 3 Assessor qualification provides a pathway for learners to understand assessment and practice. Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment is a knowledge-only award for those who are starting their journey as an assessor, or those who need to know about assessment practice but are not currently practicing.
There are no formal requirements for Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (TAQA) course, however, candidates should be working in, or working towards a role in quality assurance.
