The 120-credit BTEC Level 3 Diploma broadens and expands the specialist work-related focus from the BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma and the BTEC Level 3 90-credit Diploma There is potential for the qualification to prepare learners for employment in the appropriate vocational sector and it is suitable for those who have decided that they wish to enter a particular area of work It is broadly equivalent to two GCE A LevelsEnglish and maths is included within the study programme and attendance to all timetabled sessions is essential Included within your course will also be work experience and enrichment activities

Course programme
Student will study 12 units across 2 years, including communication and employability skills, computer systems, computer networks, information systems, installing and uploading software, maintaining computer systems, eCommerce, managing computer networks, and event driven programming etc
How will I be assessed?Assessment is continuous through practical assignment work, submitted and assessed throughout the year Students will be expected to show a wide range of skills, including; scenario based assignments, presentation skills, report writing and practical demonstrations
What may it lead to?Some learners may wish to gain the qualification in order to enter a specialist area of employment or to progress to a level 4 programme
Entry RequirementsMerit at Level 3 Subsidiary, outstanding attendance in IT and outstanding attendance on English and Maths
