The aim is to provide practicing managers with the knowledge, skills and confidence to perform effectively as coaches or mentors as part of their normal work role. In addition the programme aims to equip participants seeking to move into a development role within their organisations or to freelance as a management coach or mentor. Suitable for: People who are considering a move into a role as a coach or a mentor or your job includes these areas of responsibility.

About this course

There are no formal entry requirements but participants will normally be practicing managers. They should ideally have successfully completed a CMI Level 3 qualification in Management, or a CMI Level 5 qualification in Management, or equivalent. Managers, who have no formal qualification in management, but who have several years’ experience may also participate.

Award:
The Level 3 Award in Coaching and Mentoring is a concise qualification which enables you to strengthen and develop your coaching and mentoring knowledge through focusing on specific areas of coaching and mentoring which are appropriate to your personal and organisational development.

To achieve a Chartered Management Institute Award in Coaching and Mentoring, you need to successfully complete at least one unit to a minimum of 5 credits.

The Award can take as little as 2 to 3 weeks.

Certificate:
The Level 3 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring is a more extensive qualification enabling you to focus on broadening your coaching and mentoring knowledge and skills whilst still maintaining the flexibility to focus on the specific areas appropriate to you and your workplace.

To achieve a Chartered Management Institute Certificate in Leadership Coaching and Mentoring you need to successfully complete any combination of units to a minimum of 13 credits.

The Certificate can take between 1 to 3 months.

Diploma:
The Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring is a comprehensive qualification providing you with all of the key coaching and mentoring skills to enable you to implement them effectively within the workplace. It allows you to develop a range of competencies from management mentoring to the management of action learning.

To achieve a Chartered Management Institute Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring you need to successfully complete all of the core units (Group A) and two optional units (Group B) to a total of 42 credits.

The Diploma can take between 6 to 12 months.
