2. Course description This course is specifically designed for international students who are looking to progress to a Business-related Degree or Foundation Degree in Business.  It is a one-year course starting in September each year. The course combines training in your selected study area with English Language tuition. Successful completion provides you with a qualification for entry into higher education in many UK Universities. Alternatively, students can access a place on a number of New College Nottingham's (ncn's) Foundation Degree (FdA) courses with progression onto the BA (Hons) Top-up Degrees. The aims of the course are as follows:      Develop academic study skills such as note-taking and essay writing     Preparation for IELTS     Provide further knowledge in key business subject areas     Introduce the teaching and learning styles associated with university     Develop your personal study skills in preparation for higher education     Support your university application  The syllabus meets the demands of Degree courses that students are likely to progress to. The course consists of eight compulsory modules:      Marketing     Economics     Accounting     English     Entrepreneurial skills     Law (English legal system)     Statistical Analysis     Maths for Business  The course also includes visits to Universities and guest speaker programmes.
