This is the intermediate course, allowing you to learn Person Centred theory in depth with CBT and Psychodynamic theories as comparisons. You will also learn more in depth knowledge and techniques as well as embedding your skills. You will begin to see the importance of the BACP ethical framework, as well as learning about diversity, data protection, confidentiality and contracting, presentations, and being able and competent to manage a 30 minute counselling sessions . You will have a sound understanding and knowledge of the need to work professionally, within boundaries . The course is rooted in humanistic qualities and values, and will be a valuable learning experience and qualification: This course is open to anyone who has a basic knowledge/training in counselling skills, you may have attended an introduction to counselling, or learned a little in previous training. It is suitable for those who wish to work with the general public, and will aid and enhance communication skills and aid better relationships within your work, with your family and friends. You will enhance your own personal development and this qualification is a recognise certificate aiding progression for those wishing to work with people of all ages.

About this course

The objectives of this course is to teach you at an intermediate level in order for you to be able to manage a 30 minute counselling session with the skills and techniques of Person centred, CBT and Psychodynamic theory. This course will enable you to fully understand the role of a counsellor, power differences, how to operate safely and ethically.

This course is open to anyone who is wanting a deeper learning in counselling skills, will suit those who have completed a level 2 or similar, and for those who wish to pursue counselling as a career.
Health professionals, HR, managers, supervisors, key and support workers.

To have already completed a level 2 foundation course, or may already be using counselling skills in the workplace. .

Accredited level 3 progression in counselling

This course carries 31 credits and has 9 areas of learning, so you can expect to have a much wider learning and deeper understanding.

Course programme

This part time level 3 counselling skills course will provide an in depth theoretical knowledge and skills application in humanistic counselling.

it is held one evening per week and you can expect to learn a repetoire of new skills.

This course provides lots of personal and professional development. You will not be required to attend personal counselling, but you will be working with real issues not role play.

This is an accredited national course, and will appeal to those who have some training in basic counselling. You may have learned basic skills in your job, or previous training, and it is a progression from the level 2.

You will learn 9 units over the 40 weeks of training, from Data Protection, Diversity, Problem Solving, presentation skills and an overview of 3 different theories.

Comments: The training group is kept small, no more than 12 students to aid learning at a high level. and we aim for 100% pass rate. You will be offered the highest level of learning, with full support and help. You will be training with like minded individuals with material that aids growth, knowledge and professional development with career or further training opportunities. It is an accredited and Nationally recognised course.
Career opportunities: This will allow future progression onto the level 4 Counselling Diploma, or will enhance job/career prospects when working with people.
