What will I study?
There are two aspects to the course - Religious Ethics in which you'll study topics relating to relationships, family and sexuality, issues about war and peace, why people choose to embrace/reject religion and Religious Philosophy where you will look at questions such as; Is there a God and can we prove it? How can I live an ethical life - is there such a thing? What happens when we die? What is right and wrong? There is great emphasis on discussion and debate but you will also study what the great thinkers and religions have said.
Method of assessment
100% exam
What will I be able to progress to?
Religious Studies is widely respected by universities as a traditional subject and is becoming increasingly popular with employers as religious issues are becoming much more topical. It is also a national curriculum subject taught from primary school upwards - so if you're looking into a career as a teacher - this could be the ideal course.
