Level 4 Counselling Diploma in the theory and practice of counselling - TORQUAY

Level 4 Accredited Diploma in Therapeutic Ccounselling. This course is designed for you to be a fully qualified and practicing competent and reflective counsellor within 21 months. It is an integrative humanistic course, blending Transactional Analysis and Gestalt theories, embedded in the Person Centred approach, which will give you a repetoire of skills and a toolbox of techniques to aid effective intervention, which will be effectively developed throughout the learning process with shared analysis with your fellow peers, and experiential learning in the community. You will gain a recognised accredited Diploma, respected in the Counselling community. You will be eligable to start meeting the requirements for full individual accreditation by the BACP, and will be articulate in your own philosophical approach to counselling, and show a deep understanding of the theories and the importance of the therapeutic relationship. You will have deepened the ability and skills to assess, conceptualise and evaluate your casework, and have a range of therapeutic interventions available to empower your clients.

The course is a balanced composition of counselling skills, personal development and growth, research and theoretical elements, and placements with supervision. You will learn the use of training realia and media, such as the use of crystals and sand trays, painting, storytelling and role play for use with clients.

This course aims to encourage self development and self awareness, and to reflect on how life experiences may facilitate or impede the counselling process. You will increase your knowledge base and skills with elements of professional development.
