2. Course description The course is highly practical and allows for a mixture of skills-based class work and projects. You'll be introduced to both design and technical work via theoretical and practical workshop sessions.  You'll cover a number of topics including set design; stage management; sound design and production; lighting design and practice; stage properties and costume.  There will also be the opportunity to work with professionals on live briefs.  You'll enjoy a fully integrated programme of work alongside dancers and actors, with major dance performances developed from residencies abroad. Previous years' study visits have included Budapest, Barcelona and New York.  You'll also get to work on music gigs and corporate events.  In year one you'll study the following modules: • process and production • contextual studies • specialist skills • creating/staging performance • facilitation  Year two modules include: • production company • applied specialisms • industry practice/work-based learning • developing the practitioner • contextual studies  You'll be taught by highly skilled tutors with strong academic backgrounds, who have worked as professional actors, dancers and designers and can share with you their wealth of experience of working in the industry.

Entry requirements You will need between 120 and 240 UCAS points from: • at least two A Levels at ‘A2', with one in a related area • a BTEC Diploma or Extended Diploma in a related area • International Baccalaureate  Mature students with relevant experience and/or qualifications, including an Access to HE Diploma within a relevant area, are welcome to apply.  You will be invited to attend an interview and audition. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method You will be continuously assessed throughout the course. There are no examinations.
