2. Course description The course is highly practical and allows for a mixture of skills-based class work and projects.  You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with students from other performing arts disciplines on various productions and on study visits abroad. Previous years' study visits have included Budapest, Barcelona, Lisbon, Prague, Madrid and New York.  You'll be given an overview of the theatre arts industry and gain the underpinning knowledge necessary to operate effectively within it.  You'll develop your understanding of the role and standing of the industry in a broader economic, political, social and technological context.  The modules on the course include: • academic research skills • performance practice • practice as research • industry practice  The course is focused on developing you as an independent practitioner. The modules you'll study have practical work at their core, which helps to nurture your growth as a creative artist.  You'll be taught by highly skilled tutors with strong academic backgrounds, who have worked as professional actors, dancers and designers and can share with you their wealth of experience of working in the industry.

Entry requirements You will need (or expect to achieve) one of the following in acting, dance, performance, technical theatre or theatre: • Foundation Degree (FdA) • Higher National Diploma (HND) • Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE)  Mature students with relevant experience and/or qualifications in a relevant area are welcome to apply.  You will be invited to attend an interview and audition and asked to submit an example of academic writing. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method You will be assessed through written assignments and practical coursework.
