This course is intended for learning and development practitioners who are carrying out assessments of vocational skills, knowledge and understanding outside of the work environment in, for example, workshops, classrooms and other training environments.

This course is made up of two modules:
- Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
- Assessing Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding
All units are internally assessed. Each unit within the qualification has specified assessment criteria which must be met. To achieve a pass the learner must have met all the assessment criteria.
