On this course you will learn how to create short films that combine 2D and 3D animation and live action film making in a dynamic and exciting fusion. Whether you wish to add SFX or create a surreal world for your film peopled with animated objects and models this course will help you achieve it. In our fully equipped photography studio you will learn how to use traditional and digital techniques to create and animate 3D models and objects and how to light, frame and direct film scenes and actions to work seamlessly with those animated elements. You will also learn how to film green screen footage to effectively composite elements. An excellent course for those who want to break away from the restrictions of realism and for those who wish to develop their film making and animation showreel.

About this course

- plan and storyboard a composited sequence incorporating live action and animation
- create and light sets
- animate objects and models using stop motion
- create and animate objects and models using Cinema 4D Lite
- film green screen footage for effective compositing
- Composite live action and animation in Aefx and add animated SFX.
- Edit sound and image in Premiere Pro CC
- Export films using appropriate Formats and Codecs.

Our high definition cameras and the latest professional equipment and software are available for your use throughout the course. It would be useful to bring a memory stick (or portable hard drive – please note PC formatted hard drives can be read by Apple mac computers, but not written to.).

You will be taught using a range of techniques including workshops, short lectures, demonstrations, practical exercises, tutorials, group and individual assistance and hand-outs. Please note the City Lit uses Apple Mac computers in Animation, Cartooning, Digital arts, Film, Graphics, Illustration, Photography and Web design.
