If you would like to pursue a career as a professional solicitor, the Bachelor of Laws LLB is the main route of entry to the profession.

Many graduates go on to take the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (PEAT1), which is the next stage for those who wish to qualify as a solicitor.

Accredited by the Law Society of Scotland, our programme provides knowledge and understanding of the legal system and law of Scotland.

In Year 1 and 2 you will develop your knowledge and expertise through the study of Legal Systems and Study, Succession and Family Law, and Commercial Law. In Year 3 and 4 you will develop your areas of expertise through the choice of more specialist law modules and the completion of an Honours dissertation in your chosen area.

With a small first year intake, you will benefit from small classes and excellent access to staff in a supportive learning environment. You will develop your legal knowledge and skills through the study of core areas of private, public, criminal and commercial law.

We also offer a two-year accelerated 'fast track' LLB to students who already hold an Honours degree in another discipline. (UCAS Code for Fast-track M115)

This programme is being refreshed for-09-2017 entry and is subject to final approval which-05-result in some content change. For up to date information, please check the website regularly or contact Karen Ray at k.ray@gcu.ac.uk
