Entry requirements
A good undergraduate degree or equivalent professional qualification with appropriate law content.
Students with three years' legal or relevant commercial work experience will also be considered subject to interviews.
Applicants with extensive work experience will be considered on a case by case basis.
International students need to meet our English language requirement at either IELTS at 6.5 or above, and a minimum of 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening).

Legal Aspects of International Financial Law
The module studies international finance from an English law perspective and within the context of the practical and theoretical issues that arise. Covering key methods of international finance, such as syndicate loans, debenture, financial derivatives, and also touching other jurisdictions such as the US, the Middle East, Asia and Africa, this module provides you with a comparative approach to the law of international finance.

Securities Regulations
This module studies the law, practice and theory of securities regulations under English law but in a comparative international context focusing on US Law and practice. The module examines the different approaches to securities regulations and draws critical comparisons.

International Banking Law
This module examines the practical and theoretical issues in international banking, focusing on aspects of English banking law and international banking practices recommended by the Basel Committee under BIS. This module will provide you with comprehensive knowledge of Basel Development and its supervisory role.

International Commercial Arbitration and Mediation Law
This module gives you a detailed introduction to both the theory and practice of international commercial arbitration and mediation, as well as other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Research Methodology
This module provides a thorough basis for Masters level research methods. It addresses core content areas appropriate to research in a legal context, and supports you to achieve appropriate levels of competence in these areas, as well as broadening your knowledge of research tools.

Dissertation
Your dissertation gives you the opportunity to demonstrate the mastery of a particular subject area, by completing an extended piece of self-managed research. Your dissertation will develop and test your ability to conceptualise, appraise and critically evaluate a significant topic relating to the legal issues surrounding international banking and finance.
