Although candidates do not need to have formal prior knowledge or qualifications for this VRQ Level 2, it would be beneficial to have some knowledge and practice of electrical installation in dwellings and, as an absolute minimum, competence in component/unit exchange.

All electrical work that is undertaken in domestic premises must now comply with building regulations legislation.

This EAL course provides electrical training for any individual who undertakes basic electrical work as part of their main trade, for example: plumbers, kitchen fitters, joiners, heating engineers and loft conversion companies. An EAL Part P training certificate must also be held in order to self-certify any work carried out within a domestic property.
