Course programme

If London is made up of a collection of villages, at its heart are the quartiers: Soho, St. James, Covent Garden, Spitalfields, Bloomsbury, Mayfair, Clerkenwell, St James’s- whose characters and appearances are quite distinct even today. This course explores the historical reasons for this in terms of the origin of the quartier, and the people who have lived there over the centuries - and seeks to explain each quartier's unique character.
